How can I upload GSA catalog modification to GSA Advantage?

Once you’ve been awarded a GSA Schedule, you are responsible for uploading your catalog to GSA Advantage! and updating it with any modifications, such as product additions, deletions, or price changes.  The two methods to upload catalogs to GSA Advantage! are either via the Schedule Input Program (SIP) or through Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). SIP is GSA’s proprietary software and is free to download from the GSA website, however the EDI program has several advantages over SIP software.

SIP vs EDI for uploading your GSA catalog

EDI offers significantly better functionality than SIP when it comes to managing your GSA upload:

  1. Using EDI allows contractors to upload individual catalog modifications. SIP only allows you to upload complete GSA catalogs.
  2. EDI places no limitations on the catalog size that you can upload to GSA Advantage! In comparison, SIP users can only upload 200,000 items.
  3. Uploading a catalog of approximately 50,000 items takes just a couple of minutes using EDI software, rather than several hours using a SIP program.

GSA Advantage! EDI Upload Price List, Text File, Catalog

EDI’s advanced functionality allows GSA contractors to upload complete contract catalogs and their GSA text file price list, as well as individual catalog modifications such as:

  • New Product Additions
  • Product Deletions
  • Economic Price Adjustments
  • Temporary Sale Price

How to Upload Your EDI

Some contractors start out by using SIP software but find it a challenging, time-consuming, and expensive way to manage their GSA catalog. If you’re looking to transition to a different system and download EDI software, you must first choose a provider that best suits your business needs.

At Price Reporter we have developed a proprietary GSA Catalog Upload Portal, based on EDI technology. It is a highly advanced and user-friendly solution which enables you to:

  • Review and edit your contract information
  • Upload your GSA Advantage! products
  • Prepare FedMall and IntraMalls catalogs
  • Instantly update your temporary sales prices
  • Update your GSA Advantage! catalog with any GSA-approved modifications
  • Upload images from archives or hyperlinks
  • Easily check the status of your uploads
  • Perform ETS and TAA compliance checks
  • Keep history and backups of all uploaded GSA contract modifications and catalogs
  • Import Data from GSA’s SIP and Sensoft’s easy SIP

This can all be done at a very reasonable price, with the initial upload cost for a catalog of 100,000 products and T&Cs being offered free of charge! You can read a detailed comparison of Price Reporter’s easy EDI program with SIP competitors here.
